Washington State Moves Towards a Ban on Gas Cars

The Washington State Senate passed a bill this week that is in-line with California's zero emissions laws. Once signed into law, the entire west coast will require that a given percentage of automotive sales are electric vehicles.

Another related bill that is still being considered for future sessions proposes that the state refuse to register any new gasoline vehicles by 2030. This adds the state to a list of at least 13 countries and a number of U.S. states that are also pursuing similar bans.
